UNFCCC COP 15, Copenhagen (Denmark)

Background:

"COP 15 will see the presentation of the final proposal -- negogiated since COP 13 (Bali, December 2007) -- for a Kyoto Protocol successor, a strengthened and binding international agreement on action against climate change that will apply  to the period post-2012. The proposal will be the result of 2 years intense discussion and debate to agree actions aiming to encompass diverse priorities, from respect for the environment, living standards and long-term security of energy supply. The government hopes as many countries as possible will ratify the proposal."
